Embarking on the Coastal River Bay landscape design project was a deeply enriching experience, blending creativity with a touch of coastal flair. Located on the riverside in Fort Lauderdale, we chose low-maintenance plants and materials, ensuring that the space remained effortlessly stunning throughout the year, echoing the hardy, resilient beauty of coastal gardens. By incorporating symmetrical patterns, we crafted a sense of space and balance, inviting visitors to wander and contemplate. The use of forced perspective was particularly transformative; it allowed us to create the illusion of expansive areas, even within limited confines. Coastal-style pottery and plantings create a serene retreat, transporting you to tranquil shores right in Fort Lauderdale. To ensure complete privacy, we planted hedges along the perimeter, creating a secluded haven where one could escape and find peace. This project wasn’t just about designing a landscape; it was about crafting a personal paradise for our client.
The incorporation of native plants was another crucial element in our design philosophy. Native species, being well-adapted to the local climate and soil conditions, are more sustainable and require less maintenance. We selected an array of salt-tolerant grasses and flowering shrubs that not only thrived in the coastal environment but also offered vibrant seasonal color. Decorative pathways made from locally-sourced stone meander through the garden, guiding visitors on a journey through the diverse plant life. Each turn of the path reveals a new vignette, whether it’s a secluded bench shaded by palms or a fountain surrounded by lush greenery. At night, strategically placed lighting highlights the garden’s features, creating a magical, inviting ambiance. This thoughtful integration of elements ensures that the Coastal River Bay landscape is not only beautiful but also enduring, reflecting nature’s resilience and elegance.
